A Short Intro

Hi, I’m Ioannis Kasionis, a Data Scientist from Greece, with a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence. I built Latent Tortoise as a place to share with you fun, practical machine learning projects, experiments, and walkthroughs.

This blog focuses on machine learning, data science, computer vision, generative AI, diffusion models, autoencoders, GANs, RL experiments, and other interesting hands-on ideas that are more exciting than yet another Titanic tutorial.

I wanted a space to document projects I find genuinely interesting, explain things in a clear and approachable way, and build a blog that feels curious, playful, and useful.

The name comes from the idea of exploring latent spaces in machine learning, mixed with a pixelated tortoise mascot that matches the blog’s playful, not-too-serious personality.
